SOUTH VIETNAM CAMPAIGN MEDAL / VIETNAM STAR The South Vietnam Campaign Medal was issued by the Government of the Republic of Vietnam for service in the prescribed area of operations in Vietnam during the period commencing on 31 July 1962 and ending on 27 January 1973 for Australian personnel. THE MEDAL The medal is a gold and white enamelled star with a green, red and gold centre motif. THE RIBBON The ribbon is green with three white stripes. A ribbon device bearing the inscription 1960 is worn on the medal ribbon. A smaller device with the inscription 60- is worn on the ribbon bar.

Un Named Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal Un Named Air Force Long Service and Good Conduct Medal The Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (RAF) was introduced on 1 July 1919. The medal was originally made from silver, although later issues have been made from a silver-plated base metal. The obverse of the medal shows the effigy of the reigning monarch, while the reverse bears the image of the Royal Air Force eagle with outstretched wings surmounted by a Crown with the words 'For Long service and Good Conduct' around the circumference. An airman who completes 15 years of reckonable service from the date of attestation or age 17½, whichever is later, shall be eligible to receive the medal. However, there are a number of offences which would normally preclude award of the LS&GCM. Awards are only made after a thorough check of an airman's record of service.

Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal Un Named Specimen Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal Silver with silver suspender The Royal Navy Long Service & Good Conduct Medal was introduced on 24 August 1831. It is silver and circular in shape. The medal of 1831 had on its obverse side an anchor surmounted by a crown and enclosed in an oak wreath. The medal's reverse side was engraved with the recipient's details. The silver medal has changed dimensions and ribbon colour twice during its period of issue. The original medal of 1831 was 34mm in diameter and was suspended from a ring by a dark blue ribbon. In 1848 the medal became 36mm in diameter with a dark blue ribbon with white edges. A narrow suspender was introduced in 1874. Today, the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (Navy) is based on the pattern of 1848. The obverse of the medal shows the effigy of the reigning monarch, while the reverse shows the image of a three-masted man-of-war surrounded by a rope tied at the foot with a reef knot with the words 'For Long service and Good Conduct' around the circumference. An Other Rank who completes 15 years of reckonable service from the date of attestation or age 17½, whichever is later, and who holds all three good conduct badges, shall be eligible to receive the medal. However, there are a number of offences which would normally preclude award of the LS&GCM. Awards are only made after a thorough check of a sailor's record of service.

The Territorial Force War Medal, 1914-1919 The Territorial Force War Medal, 1914-1919 Name: Erased Only members of the Territorial Force and Territorial Force Nursing Service were only eligible for this medal. They had to have been a member of the Territorial Force on or before 30th September 1914 and to have served in an operational theatre of war outside the United Kingdom between 5th August 1914 and 11th November 1918. An individual who was eligible to receive the 1914 Star or 1914/15 Star could not receive the Territorial War Medal. The obverse (front) of the medal shows an effigy of King George V with the words GEORGIVS BRITT OMN:REX ET IND: IMP: The reverse of the medal has the words TERRITORIAL WAR MEDAL around the rim, with a laurel wreath and the words inside the wreath FOR VOLUNTARY SERVICE OVERSEAS 1914-1919. Un-Named General Service Medal 1918-62 with Malaya Clasp Un-Named General Service Medal 1918-62 with Malaya Clasp The General Service Medal 1918-1962 (GSM 1918-62) was instituted in 1923 as a general service medal similar to the Naval General Service Medal 1915-1962 and to be awarded for minor conflicts for which no other specific campaign medal is awarded. It was always awarded with a clasp indicating the area for which the medal was awarded. Subsequent service is recognised by the award of further clasps to be worn on the original medal.
